Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Knight!
Tis the season to be jolly. Today is Christmas Eve and everything is a buzz. I spent yesterday evening making gingerbread men and sugar cookies. If you specifically mention this blog today or tomorrow, (maybe even til Thursday) you get your choice of cookie! Boy, I am so generous. Don't forget that amongst the insomnia and anxiety in having to wait for Christmas Day, there is a very special person who needs celebrating, Santa. Wait, let me try again. Don't forget the day is for the birth of our savior, our knight in shining armor who came forth in a dark time to lead His people to the glory of the celestial kingdom and has sent His gospel on the earth again to save you. Yes, you. Eat well, enjoy family, love everyone and have a jolly holiday!

Quests Beyond the Guildhouse
There seems to be some confusion regarding fulfillment of quests outside of the Guildhouse. Any quest completed within the Guildhouse will be recorded and rewarded. Any quest completed outside the Guildhouse (i.e. your house) will be recorded, but not rewarded by the Guild Masters.
Recording fulfilled quests (whether at the Guildhouse or other locations) will earn you titles within the Guild, as well as forward your advancement through the ranks to become full-fledged questgivers yourselves.

A Little Christmas Spirit: Delayed
Ah, the Christmas season is upon us. Do I feel Christmas-y yet? I'm not sure. Oh I have done the typical stuff. I did Black Friday shopping; I got all my presents wrapped; we put on Christmas music and we are even doing advent calendars. What am I missing? Oh yes! We got our tree and put it up. We joined the choir (partly by force) to sing carols. I have been playing Christmas music on the radio and the organ. So do I feel jolly? Do I feel the love of Christmas? Not really. So what am I missing? The love of Christ. The season is great for giving and feeling wonderful, but all I feel is the cold weather. What do I need to do? I need to give of my time and self. Charity never faileth. If you want happiness, give of yourself. Lift another. Share your candies (with me). I realized that I was making attempts, but was too cynical about it. We went to Costco and I cheered up a demo lady by thanking her and having a little chat. I thanked our postal delivery lady. Isn't that enough? Well, if you want to be truly happy, these sorts of things should happen more frequently and always from the heart. I may not be feeling the Christmas spirit as strongly as I could but I, like you, need to make the effort to live a Christ-like life if I ever wish to be truly happy. But maybe for now, I will settle for a little joy in receiving too. Now where is that present so I can give it a good shake...

Wait, when is Friday?
Have you ever felt like one day was another? Well, Tuesday was supposed to be Friday. What happened, I don't know, but somehow, my Tuesday and Friday got switched and that made it all worse. I was absolutely ready to go home for a nice weekend, but I still had the rest of the week. I crashed through Wednesday and today. No really, I crashed. I was out of sorts, acting wierd(er than usual), my mind was a mess and I couldn't get anything to work right. Talk about frustrating. Everything was a struggle and I didn't feel like myself. I got on every tangent possible and suffered for it. So how do you fix that? When your week turns inside out, how do you reset? Well, one more day (a real Friday this time) and the weekend will have (really) arrived. Don't forget to do service and enjoy the season!

Slippery Slope
So recently, I started obsessing over Star Wars. I know, obsession is a bad thing, but you know what, whatever. So after watching the movies (4,5 and 6 only) I started investigating and decided to read the books. Well, Lucas may be a great director, but he is a lousy author. After reading the movies made into book, I read "The Courtship of Princess Leia." I had thought, there must be something more. There was. A lot more. A whole lot more. And in I sank. I found the wookiepedia here which fed my obsession until I had a story going. Oops. Now I'm over the edge and want to do an RPG or write a novel. As I develop the characters, I let you see them here, perhaps even write out some of a story. Lesson here: beware obsessable material. It's a trap!

Seasons Greetings!
Greetings to all!
Wow! What happened to the time? Passes quickly into the night. We have just had a significant snowstorm (and by significant, I mean it stuck and left 9 inches). This means that the War on Nature quests will be on hiatus until the spring thaw, being replaced by snow removal (level depends on the storm, area shoveled and promptness of duty). At any rate, Christmas is approaching with amazing speed so let the season remind you to be charitable. Love others, treat them with kindness (especially when they deserve otherwise), give of your time, energy and love. That is what makes us happy. Don't worry about finding the perfect gift for that special someone. That can always be nice, but its the love that matters. Now go watch a Garfield Christmas special to get the reference. And while your at it, watch Charlie Brown too. And maybe It's a Wonderful Life. Or It's a Meaningful Life?
